Buxton & District u3a members welcomed six new trustees this August to its committee of nine.
As the new business secretary I quickly registered for the Third Age Trust online various training sessions for trustees and was impressed by the succinct, approachable way the information was given.
However, I had not realised that Third Age Trust were able to offer bespoke training for an individual u3a but once aware we quickly took advantage of this service.
We had a bespoke training for our new trustees which allowed us to send in our questions beforehand for the trainers to answer at the Zoom event. This was invaluable as we had the opportunity to have all our specific queries addressed as a group. We then followed this up with bespoke Zoom training for some of our group leaders which was delivered by a very knowledgeable u3a volunteer.
I feel very reassured that the Third Age Trust training team is approachable and eager to assist us with our training needs in these strange times. It’s difficult enough taking on the role as a new committee member but navigating ourselves through these changing times is easier knowing help is just a click away.
Thank you everyone involved in delivering Third Age Trust training! And I urge you to take up the offer of a bespoke training, where needed, for your u3a.
