Resources for u3a Trustees

To mark Trustees’ Week, we are sharing the support and resources available to u3a Trustees, including workshops, template policies, and advice documents.

Workshops

Our online workshop, ‘Running your u3a – Information for Trustees’, covers your role and responsibilities as a Committee member, what makes good governance and the guiding principles of the u3a. The next workshop is being run online on Monday 5 December.

Support Documents

There are a number of different documents on the u3a website to support you to run your u3a.

• The Trustee Responsibilities document provides an overview of your role.
• If you have any new Trustees joining your committee, the newly updated Trustee induction document provides an outline of what details and information should be shared with them.
• Other documents for committee members available on the website include template risk assessments, information about data protection, finance, insurance and the legal aspects of running a u3a. There are also template policies and role descriptions which can be adapted for your u3a.
• The u3a health check document can be used as a tool for committees to monitor the health of your u3a.
• If recruitment is an area you want to focus on or develop, the recruitment and retention toolkit overview document can be used to help you identify specific areas of the toolkit to explore.
