Stourbridge u3a haven’t let the pandemic curtail the activities of more than 400 members. The group have held monthly zoom talks since last June and many of the 40 plus interest groups have met virtually using zoom, Skype etc. Since relaxation of lockdown some outdoor groups are meeting in sixes

Two years ago a group of u3a volunteers took responsibility for the planters in Foster Street, Stourbridge and Stourbridge was awarded gold in the Heart of England in Bloom. Last year the competition wasn’t able to go ahead. Undaunted, a few Stourbridge u3a volunteers kept Foster Street weeded and during the autumn they planted bulbs and pansies in Foster Street.

The result is amazing, no weeds and in their place bright, cheerful planters. Heart of England in Bloom will go ahead this year and the u3a volunteers will be back caring for the plants!
