A Winter Sun sequence to start your day

Our u3a Subject Adviser for Yoga, Patricia, shares a Winter Sun Sequence to start your day off with a moment of calm.

 This sequence consists of five postures (standing or seated).

Repeat 3 or 6 times

Seated on chair- hands in ‘prayer’ position at heart centre – 6 breaths

Breathe in –raise arms. Breathe out – (Sun) backbend. Breathe in- return

Hands to prayer – breathe out- stretch arms forward. Breathe in- return

Breathe out- open arms out- chest level. Breathe in return

Breathe out- sweep arms back- hold sides of chair. Breathe in - return

Arms to side of chair. Breathe out- half forward bend with arms……

…. breathe in- return to ‘prayer’ Breathe in and out quietly x 6 rounds.
