u3a day is here

u3a day is here and members from Wellingborough u3a, Honition u3a and Rural West Cheshire u3a talk about how they're celebrating the day
u3a day is here and u3as across the country are celebrating.
Craftivism at Wellingborough and District u3a
"Members of Wellingborough and District u3a have handcrafted blue and yellow flowers in all kinds of ways including crochet, embroidery, polymer clay, linoprint, watercolour, needlefelting and knitting. We decided to use 'Craftivism' to get our message across, so some flowers have been used to make postcards with our contact details on. These will be available in public places such as libraries and doctors surgeries. We have been delighted by the range of talent displayed by our 'crafty' membership!" - Julie
Teddy Bear Hunt at Honiton u3a
"We have booked a spot right in the middle of Honiton High Street for an Information Point between 11am -1pm. Our Chair, Peter will open proceedings and introduce our Special Guest - the Mayor of Honiton, Cllr. John Zarcynski; also present to make a special announcement will be our Honiton Town Crier, Dave Retter. We have u3a Banner Flags, a Notice Board, information table with handouts and manned by Honiton u3a volunteers. PLUS our Honiton u3a Folk Dance Band and members of our Recorder Group will be entertaining everyone throughout with their music. (All we need now is a bright , dry and hopefully sunny day!)
Between 28 May to 4 June, we're running a Spot the Teddy Competition. 14 shops and businesses, including the Honiton Library are placing our u3a Teddies in their windows, with each Teddy representing one of our Interest Groups. So It is - Find the Teddy, note the interest group and post your entry for the chance to win one of our prizes. Three local businesses have kindly donated Vouchers for us to award as prizes. All the Teddies have been hand knitted by our members - from the same pattern, but each with their own little character!!
We're also running a Special Zoom Meeting for our members at 2pm on National u3a Day and in the spirit of the day we are encouraging our members to 'Invite a Friend' to join them." - Val
Welly Walk at Rural West Cheshire u3a
“Tattenhall the village where we hold our monthly meeting has a welly walk planned where people are planting and displaying these in their gardens around the village. We planted these for the u3a display complete with u3a day flags.” – Anne
